2013 Love Letter to my Marisa

Dear Marisa,

Well right now you are on your first ACTS retreat =) I am so proud of you because this retreat was your idea and your choice!!  I always told myself I would never push you to do things that weren’t “you.”  I have always found though, you find our own way all on your own.  Your way is usually one I am proud of!!!  I have always been proud of the child you were, and I have been even more proud and amazed at the teen you have become!

In a few years you will be an adult.  There is no relationship as important as the one you have with the Lord!  You know that is true, and I have peace knowing when I am not with you, the Lord is always with you.  I am happy and find content knowing that you are smart enough to feel the Lords presence and nurture it.

I remember Oh, so well that little infant who would kneel in her crib at night and Pray to “Our Father.”

Our Father, which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy Name.

Thy Kingdom come.

Thy will be done in earth,

As it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive them that trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

The power, and the glory,

For ever and ever.

Amen.

You were so tiny, little, and so smart wanting so young to build your faith… thankful for those kind o things that stay the same!

When you go on an ACTS retreat, you will hear people really “talk it up,” because they are usually one of the best experiences of your life.  But just keep in mind that at times when our expectations are high, we are left with a “clueless” feeling… know that is normal; and it is OK!!!  God is going to give you exactly what you need to take from this experience.  Sometimes the message is clear, but sometimes its not so clear until days, months, or maybe even years later.

Just know today, that everyone in this world has something to teach you.  Everyone who comes in contact with you was sent for a reason~ an example or a lesson.  Always let the bad and negative apples push you to remain full of love and positivism… especially when you see how UGLY ugly can be.  Let the positive energy of the beautiful souls you meet be your guide.

God made it possible that all the wonderful souls who attended this retreat do so together.  Think about that, and think about everyone you are sharing this glorious moment with.  You know I love you! I am so grateful to feel your love everyday.  Everyday you bring love, laughter, and happiness into my life.

Enjoy everyday as if it the only day!!!!

Love,

Mom
