What is a defect? The lack of something necessary or desirable for completion or perfection; a deficiency: a visual defect!
The definition of defect, that alone makes me want to question what is perfection? Perfection is supposedly without flaws.
What is a flaw? a feature that mars the perfection of something; defect!
“It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere.” We create our own happiness!
Life is not about finding yourself, it is about creating yourself. Be who you want to be!!!
From the beginning of time, I have always hated what others have concluded about what perfection is…
I often found beauty in whatever was the opposite of what people were brainwashed to believe, and then convey.
I remember disliking TV, models, ads, magazines since I was young… To this day I’m strong-headed about me staying true to my anti-TV ways…
To this day, I vow to change the power of the media, for positive direction!
It seems in every expression on Television a message is expressed saying what a person~ which is usually a celebrities belief, of what perfection is, is the truth.
It is often, and if we pause for a moment, look around, we will notice. People don’t trust themselves, people would rather have someone else (if it’s a fake celebrity~they must have the best ideas) tell them how/what to dress, act, wear, color or cut their hair, kind of purse to hold; car to drive; basically, live! You strive so hard to be someone you’re not by following someone you don’t even know.
We women often compare ourselves to one another and we use terrible standards, completely unrealistic standards…
Everyday us women have to face society telling us how we have to be, a certain way or we are not beautiful; and we actually accept that as our truth more times than not. Even when we know deep down the truth, beauty is in the heart and shines on the face!
And just as we teach our young girls at an early age through our example, we have begun the same with our young boys…
We give all the wrong messages to young boys that make them too feel inadequate before they have even begun to learn their worth… Men should be tall, dark, fit, handsome, athletic, and made of money 💰 or they aren’t date worthy! We will even accept douche bag behavior if he fits the bill. What is wrong with us and when did we become a sell-out to our future generation?
Many people find it a challenge to figure out their own ideas, forget to think on their own, since they have followed others their whole life, they basically go around and clone their favorite characters on T.V., wear what everyone else in their class is wearing, or purchase magazines, watch videos, so they know what they need to purchase to stay looking “perfect.”
I grew up in a private school environment, and was told what I had to wear to school each week; the only thing that kept me feeling different from the rest was my refusal to comb my hair neatly and decorate with the good girl bow placed on top all the other girls wore.
I wore my hair messy often and would shave the sides or under; so that I could lift my hair, flip it over and shock the world with a loud we don’t have to follow with little reason…
I have always taken pride in my look and I love to change my look quite often;
Many would say I have a completely different look from one day to the next. I love colors, accessories, but I also love comfort and won’t wear any fashion pain bringing device or will allow myself to be a slave to what others think is “hot”.
Emily Dickinson so plainly beautiful~
It is the plain women who know about love; the beautiful women are too busy being fascinating-Katherine Hepburn
When I was little I started playing with makeup and I felt like an ultimate artist. My face was the canvas and I was amazed at how the colors with their bright effects could change my look to quite dramatic.
I enjoyed the fact I could shadow my face; so it could emphasize the exotic effect of darker feelings harder to convey
My attitude was quite rebellious and I was happy I could differentiate myself from the rest~ using hair, clothes, makeup, and any other way I could think of.
I never wanted to look like anybody else because I didn’t feel like anyone else!
As I started to rebel, and live my life… I found myself getting scars though out the years, from either skateboarding or just being in places that I shouldn’t have… but every scar had a story…
I started getting older, then I noticed lines on people’s faces and really was drawn how the lines were apparent during certain expressions… it made their face really have character…
You could see years of worry, anxiety… you could see years of smiling and happiness…and what a wise “earned” beauty effect
Love this gorgeous-very real body– we are not “victims” of aging… Aging is and always will be part of us all; no one is immune, we need to accept this in our spirit; ACCEPTANCE is the key….
Aging can be fun if you just sit back and enjoy it; don’t ever be critical of your aging body~the aging body shows a different physical life; a new beauty all on its own…
Some smile and then you see it, they have a cute overbite
When they laugh from the heart their overbite, you fall in love with because it’s unique to them…
or a gap in their mouth…
People are so unique,,,
I love stretch marks, scars, freckles, just anything that gives extra character/story to a person…I think individuality is soooo super sexy!!!!!!!
Skinny/thin people are like little cuddle bears you can hold tight, carry, maneuver, they don’t take up much room in this world but they will take up all the room in your heart… My boyfriend always says how small he forgets I am because my personality is huge! In other words he never sees my size when he’s looking at me, he sees my essence!
Small/compact people are damn fast too like lightning, they can zip in out of your sight before you can blink, there small legs are like the wings of a butterfly fluttering at speeds of their own..
What does ANYTHING have to do with the size of a person’s body…
and, you would think women of all would be sensitive to the issue because of what we have to go through in society… NOT TRUE; they can be the worst!!!
Women who claim… men have to be a certain size & height… it all makes me sick!!! I will NEVER judge a man by this looks, EVER!!!!!!! Too many women complain how they can’t find the perfect guy; when they are friend-zoning all the good guys because they are too short, fat, or not attractive with movie star looks.
Then there are big/bigger than average people
so huge I always felt safe with them… My arms love the embrace of a lot of person.
Big bears for getting lost in their embrace… Just when you think you’ve discovered all of them, more awaits…
the following quote has been borrowed from a friend of mine…
True beauty lies in the heart..I have always envied the thin supermodel..always wanted to have a perfect body. But I was never happy. Now that i have accepted it…seems like i get more attention than before. Its time to happy with what i have..Confidence is key…its the only way to be happy being me. Truth be told we are all different because God is a very creative artist…thank God for the random arrays of beauty. 🙂 ~Lisa Hernandez
Tall people can see and reach things I never can…every time I struggle on my tippy- toes, there they are standing tall and confident in their cool ways being able to see above everyone else, yes I often wonder what it looks like from their view…
There are no defects and imperfections that aren’t perfect.
“Always Love You first, find the originality that you possess, the beauty that lies within you, and the strengths that make you through the moments of life, love you; loving others will be apparent when you shine” -Michele R Trevino
“A man should look for what is, and not for what he thinks should be.” –
